누구나 들어봤을법한 가사가 너무 시적이고 정말 레젼드곡이다

많은 사람들과 문학을 전공하는 사람들이 내린 이 곡에 대한 해석은 다양하다

 

 

1) 마약에 취한 사람이 겪는 환상이다라는 설

노래 초반까지가 사실이고 그 이후부터 다 환각이라는 해석이다

초반에 잘 보면 머리가 어지러워지고 오늘 밤은 여기서 자야겠어라는 말이 나온다

 

 

2) 여기에 나오는 캘리포니아 호텔이 이 노래가 나올 당시인 60-70년대 미국 정부를 뜻한다는 말도 있었다

이 해석도 상당히 들어보면 맞는 말같다

호텔 캘리포니아에 들어가면 재미있게 놀고 정신없이 파티를 즐길수 있는데,

와인을 달라 그러면 69년도부터 우리는 그런거 취급안한다고 한다 (억압상징)

그리고 나중에 호텔 캘리포니아에서 도망치려고 하면

주인장이 마지막에 의미심장한 두 마디를 한다

And still those voices are calling from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night just to hear them say
